Kayaking with Kenny on the last day of April 2014

Out on the St Johns River there is lots to be seen. The Great Blue Herons were the bird of the day and there are several just out of the nest hanging out with their parents. Great Egrets, Little Blue Herons, Snowy Egrets, White Ibis, Moorhens, Black and Turkey Vultures were out playing today too. Up in the Spring Run we were greeted by an unexpected Manatee, that was a nice find. There were hundreds of Long-nose Garfish, Silver Mullet, Tilapia, Carp, Tarpon, Catfish and Spotted Gar just under our kayaks. As we headed back to the boat launch, the 2 Bald Eagles watched over us while we paddled by. It was a beautiful way to cap off the month of April.
