Adventures are a good thing!
A fine mist greeted us today on the St Johns River. With ponchos donned we headed out for a little wildlife viewing. As the Great Blue Herons are nesting high in the Cypress Trees an American Bittern lit up out of the weed line passing just ahead of us. The Snowy Egrets, Tri-colored Herons and Little Blues were all out feeding and a pair of Bald Eagles were overlooking the spring run as we approached. The Manatees are all about the area now coming and going. As we headed toward the swamps we got to see a few Wild Turkeys in the back waters and the Barred Owl is still sitting on his perch. These guys were rain troopers today but as they say "a little rain never hurt anyone" and it was a great kayaking adventure!
