Exploring the cool spring fed Wekiva River July 2, 2015

It was a Heron kind of day on the Wekiva. Great Blues, Tri-colored, Little Blues and Green Herons were out as well as the Great Egrets, White Ibis, Anhingas, Limpkins and Ospreys diving for fish. The Turtles were sunning on the logs while the Spanish Moss was swaying in the breeze. We hugged the tree line and you can see the new Apple Snail Eggs on the Cattails. The Pink Mallow, Scarlet Hibiscus and yellow Spatterdock all throw a splash of color against the greens of Summer. It was a blue sky Florida day and a great one to be on the river.
