Kayaking Rock Springs Run and Emerald Cut June 3, 2015

Doug came down from PA on a business trip and looked us up for a nature fix. We took half a day to explore the Rock Springs Run and Emerald Cut area. The Otters were our big find of the day and there was lots of other stuff to see. The Great Blue Heron flew by overhead, White Ibis probing around, the Great Egret was stalking for lunch and we saw a pair of Pileated Woodpeckers. There were tons of Turtles and a few small Gators out sunning. The water is running crystal clear and cool which made for a nice dip. It's a very unique place to paddle and setting up for the corners of Emerald Cut makes for a fun day of yakking!
