Excursions on the Wekiva River July 15, 2013

The Wekiva River is such a welcoming place, it's a great river to just relax and cruise. Bob & Dorothy just bought some new yaks and wanted to try them out on a guided tour. Bernard & Natasha came up from West Palm to stay-cation in Mt Dora and a guided kayak tour was also in their future. We got to share the river with lots of different plants, birds and animals... see a few Gators, Turtles, Ibis and Anhingas. The Great Blue Herons and Turkeys too. The 3 Green Herons teenagers are all grown up now and there were Little Blue Herons and Osprey fishing and even the Red-shouldered Hawks came out to say hello. Scarlet Hibiscus, Pink Mallow and Water Hemlock all add shades of color to the river and the rain shower that came through?? well was just enough to keep things cool.

I just wanted to tell you what a great time we had and are looking forward to doing it again. We would like to take our granddaughter next time she would love it
