Here from Germany Marcel and Robin joined us for some Florida fun as overcast skies met us on the Wekiva River this morning. The
river is at flood stage from Hurricane Matthew but it’s a welcome sight. The
White Ibis looking for grubs to eat appreciate the high waters. There were
several other bird species foraging for food as well. We caught a glimpse of some
Wild Turkeys, Red-shouldered Hawks, Anhingas, Great Egrets, Tri-colored, Little
Blue and Great Blue Herons to name a few. The Turtles were trying to cop some
sun and there are a few trees that have toppled over. We dragged our kayaks
over one large fallen Red Bay Tree and that just added to our adventure!
